Group Risk Analyst - Financial Services

Our client, a dynamic Financial Services Provider specialising in Group Risk Assurance North is seeking to employ a Business Risk Analyst to implement the Group Risk framework, policies and strategy

Job Context

To enable a holistic understanding of the control environment that supports an effective enterprise risk management capability to protect and create value for key stakeholders, including policyholders, and supports the achievement of the Business Unit’s strategy and objectives. Furthermore, to assist with managing the business risks within the Group Risk Company.

KEY OUTPUTS

• Implement the group risk management framework, policies and strategy within the Company
• Ensuring risk identification, control and reporting processes are aligned with the group risk management methodology and requirements
• Creating a culture of risk awareness
• Identifying areas of significant Operational Risk
• Monitor the implementation of action plans mitigating processes to address key risk indicators reported monthly to Risk Management
• Ensuring that the business units'''' Risk Profiles are up-to-date and relevant
• Facilitating and conducting risk control assessments (CSA)
• Validating and monitoring of controls -
• Monitoring and facilitating of remediation of operational related internal and External Audit findings
• Drafting of assurance plans
• Performance Risk Management and Compliance reviews
• Maintaining the Operational Risk Loss Register
• Attending Operational Meetings, where applicable
• Maintain and update BIA''''s and BCP''''s
• Evaluate the risk rating of 3rd parties
• Implementation of a business assurance framework within the Company
• Assist business with regulatory implementation where processes are impacted
• Analysing trends and performing root cause analyses on identified risk events to recommend improvements to prevent these risk events from re-occurring in future.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

• B Com Degree - Risk and Compliance Qualifications preferred
• Good understanding of financial industry specifically insurance
• Microsoft IT Skills, i.e., Outlook, Excel and Word are mandatory at an advanced level, Powerpoint advantageous
• 3 - 5 years or risk management experience or
• 3 years of financial experience or
• 3 years of Long Term Insurance experience (preferably Employee Benefits
