Group Procurement Manager

POSITION INFO:

Key responsibilities will include:

• Purchases goods or service for the Group to use / sell
• Obtain quality products for competitive process within stated timelines
• Ensure adherence to budgets and operate profitably
• Achieve cost reduction targets for all purchases and deliver a cost saving to boost bottom line
• Lead procurement for the Group for all material and service requirements
• Capex purchases for projects and plant operations
• Stores and spares for the plant maintenance requirements
• Consumables for the process requirements
• Packaging materials for packaging operations for all company brands
• Promotion materials for packing operations such as POS and POP material
• Company stationery, suppliers and essential miscellaneous items
• Implement and improve the procurement process within the Group by installing and supporting PR, PO and material inventory management process
• Develop and implement SOP’s for procurement (Reorder levels, safety levels, EBQ, EOQ, ABC analysis)
• Benchmarking of procurement costs within the industry and achieving them / improving them to meet the objective of becoming the lowest cost producer
• Vendor development and management to ensure timely and adequate supply of Group requirements and desired supplier credits
• Procurement planning and budgeting in tandem with the operational plan
• Understand and develop processes to integrate with ERP system of the company and fill gaps to improve the performance of the system
• Generate reports and presentations for monthly and periodic reviews
• Develop and implement strategies for make timely availability and stock levels to support all operations
• Imports of material from overseas markets, providing data-based analysis for decision making such as local sourcing / imports, make / buy types of decisions

The ideal candidate should meet the following requirements:

• Chemical / Mechanical Engineering degree
• Professional qualified Materials Management Graduate / Post Graduate
• 10 years’ experience
• MS Office tools including Projects and Access, Visio
• ERP based system and environment
• Understanding of supply chain production processes and systems
• Accreditation from a purchase / materials management such as CIPS (Advantageous)
