POSITION INFO:

Key Responsibilities & Duties

Digital Strategy & Content Management:

• Social Media Management: Oversee the planning, creation, and posting of content across Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn.
• LinkedIn Advocacy System: Manage and monitor the internal company-wide LinkedIn group; empower technicians and managers to generate authentic content and maintain high visibility for the group and its leadership.
• Website & Search Optimisation: Manage all group websites, ensuring technical health and high rankings through advanced Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) and Generative Engine Optimisation (GEO) strategies.
• Paid Media: Design and manage targeted advertising campaigns, including Google Ads and sponsored industry content.

Sales & Tender Alignment:

• Regional Targeting: Collaborate closely with the Tender Department to analyse where projects are "popping up" (e.g., Eastern Cape, Northern Cape) and deploy targeted marketing campaigns to support sales efforts in those regions.
• Lead Generation: Develop strategies to convert digital and event-based engagement into actionable sales leads for the various group companies.

Event Co-ordination & Hospitality:

• Industry Conferences: Lead the group’s presence at major conferences, including CAPSA, the Southern African Road Federation (SARF), and SAP Binder (Southern African Asphalt Technology Association).
• Company Events: Plan and execute bespoke Roadlab events, including international visitor tours and laboratory showcases.
• Networking & Hospitality: Manage the group’s social calendar, with specific responsibility for the annually recurring Roadlab Golf Day and other corporate networking initiatives.

Departmental & Financial Management:

• Budget Oversight: Compile and manage the annual marketing budget for the group.
• Team Leadership: Manage, mentor, and direct the Marketing Co-ordinator to ensure the smooth daily execution of the department’s tasks.
• Group Synergy: Ensure marketing support is provided equitably across all group companies, including Highway Surveillance Technologies and Specialised Concrete Consulting Services (SCCS).

Requirements & Skills:

• Essential Experience & Literacy
• Experience: Proven experience in a senior marketing role, preferably within the engineering, construction, or laboratory services sectors.
• Digital Literacy: Advanced understanding of SEO, GEO, and social media algorithms.
• Communication: Masterful command of UK English for high-level content creation and professional reporting.
• Project Management: Exceptional organisational skills for managing multi-company requirements and large-scale events.

Desirable Technical Skills:

• Design Applications: Proficiency in Adobe InDesign for the creation of professional brochures, tenders, and group profiles.
• Creative Suite: Experience with other Adobe Creative Cloud applications (Illustrator, Photoshop) or similar high-end design software is highly advantageous.
• Multimedia: Basic understanding of video editing for social media content creation.
