Grader

SUMMARY:
We are looking for a Grader to join a digital fabric printing company in Durban who is also a supplier of fabrics and trims.

The Grader is responsible for resizing base patterns to create a full range of sizes for garments, ensuring accurate fit and proportions. This role involves working closely with pattern makers and designers to maintain the integrity of the original design across all sizes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Interpret base patterns and apply standard grading rules to develop additional sizes.
• Ensure grading maintains the original design's proportion, fit, and styling details.
• Use manual methods or CAD software (e.g., Gerber, Lectra) to execute pattern grading.
• Collaborate with pattern makers, designers, and technical teams to meet fit standards.
• Check and verify pattern measurements for consistency and accuracy.
• Make adjustments based on fitting sessions or feedback from the technical team.
• Maintain pattern files and size specifications for each style.

• Qualification in Fashion Design, Pattern Making, or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of pattern grading principles and garment construction.
• Experience with CAD software (Gerber, Lectra, or similar) is preferred.
• Good understanding of body measurements and sizing systems.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
