General Worker (Solar Farm)

SUMMARY:
Job Title: General Worker (Solar Farm)
Location: De Aar, (Preference will be given to local candidates or those residing in nearby surrounding areas)
Reports To: Site Supervisor/Lead Technician

Job Summary:
This position is responsible for assisting with the day-to-day operations and maintenance of a solar farm, including site maintenance, assisting with pulling cables and digging trenches.

Working Conditions:

• 44 hours normal time per week.
• Weekend work will be required.
• Long term contract: 12 – 24 months.
• Work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Occasional travel to different solar farm sites may be required.

Key Responsibilities:

• Site Maintenance:

• Maintain the cleanliness and orderliness of the solar farm site.  

• Safety Compliance:

• Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE). 

• Identify and report any potential safety hazards to the supervisor. 

• Participate in safety training and meetings. 

• General Tasks:

• Assist with other tasks as assigned by the supervisor.

• Maintain a clean and organized work area. 

• Matric not essential but will be an advantage.
• Prior exposure to solar farm environment will be an advantage.
• Ability to follow instructions and work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong work ethic and commitment to safety.
• Ability to lift and carry materials up to 50 lbs.
