General Manager

SUMMARY:

POSITION INFO:

Key responsibilities will include: 

• Responsible for legislative safety compliance requirements - OSH Act, LRA, BCEA, Skills development, EE
• Lead the Management Team to ensure divisional and plant KPIs are achieved
• Direct and coordinate activities of operations including logistics
• Managing profitability and inventory of the Plant 
• Implement site policies, goals, objectives, and procedures conferring
• Determine personnel and organisational structure requirements, including recruitment, training, development and performance management, in line with company policies and directives 
• Implement World Class Manufacturing practices
• Develop and implement company strategy according to expected deliverables
• Drive and implement quality and customer expectations are met within agreed parameters 
• Contribute to divisional continuous improvement efforts in line with best practices and developments 
• Participate in the divisional management team structures
• Ensure a conducive IR climate
• Identify, recruit and develop talent

The ideal candidate should meet the following requirements:

• Degree in Engineering 
• 5-10 years’ experience in operations management with an emphasis on production / manufacturing
• Government Certificate of Competency (advantageous)
• Business management qualification (advantageous)
• Experience in a leadership/managerial position in senior management 
• Manufacturing experience in a pressurized environment
• Strong background in world-class manufacturing principles
