POSITION INFO:

Our client is looking for a General Management Accountant to oversee the full financial function and provide strategic direction in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for financial reporting, budgeting, compliance, and managing a team of finance professionals.

Responsibilities

Oversee and manage the full accounting function, including financial reporting, tax compliance, and internal controls
Prepare and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial plans
Provide strategic financial guidance to support operational and business decision-making
Ensure adherence to statutory and regulatory requirements
Manage and lead a team within the finance department, including performance management and development
Liaise with external auditors, tax advisors, and other stakeholders
Identify financial risks and opportunities for improvement
Maintain effective internal controls and financial systems

Key Skills

Strong leadership and team management abilities
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
In-depth knowledge of accounting standards and financial regulations
Proficient in financial software and reporting tools
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
High attention to detail and accuracy
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a senior accounting or financial management role
Experience in a general management capacity will be an advantage
Proven track record in financial reporting and team leadership

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (essential)
CA(SA) or equivalent professional accounting qualification (preferred)
