General Maintenance Assistant

SUMMARY:
Job Title: General Maintenance Assistant (Maintenance Technician)
Remuneration: R31000 per month
Location: Mooikloof

POSITION INFO:
Responsibilities:

• Conduct general repairs on the HOA common property, equipment and facilities (e.g. fastening a light fitting against a wall which became loose, welding, replace a washer in a tap, fix a latch or a hinge in a small gate or door, etc.).
• Conduct daily site visits to identify all maintenance needs.
• Conduct daily inspection and oversee all maintenance related work or projects conducted by other Service Providers in the estate.
• Provide prompt feedback and updates to estate management.
• Maintain estate swimming pools
• Conduct cost estimations of projects
• Planning and actual scheduling of maintenance projects
• Estimate the relevant material required for maintenance projects
• Identify and recommend cost saving measures to the EM.
• Conduct moderately complex maintenance which involves welding, erecting of relevant structures, frames and brackets, planting of poles, minor construction work, advanced electrical fault finding, installations and maintenance
• Conduct Generator Maintenance, source and replace parts
• Assist with any maintenance related tasks as deemed necessary by Estate Management.
• Take Minutes during Maintenance Committee Meetings
• Managing petty cash expenditures (Paywallet)

• Have a matric certificate or equivalent.
• Have a valid driver’s licence and own transport (a Bakkie would be advantageous)
• Be literate and should have excellent writing ability to draft feedback and status reports.
• Have excellent communication skills.
• Have extensive experience in the area of maintenance (at least 7 years, and a relevant qualifications would be beneficial)
• Be knowledgeable with regards to swimming pool maintenance.
• Be able to draft specifications in collaboration with the Estate Manager for maintenance work before quotations are obtained.
