Able to read and use a diagnostic machine properly

Computer literate is advantageous
Allison certified is advantageous

RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:
Repair & maintenance of gearboxes or diffs units.
Adhere to the ‘Monday Spring Clean’ schedule, ensuring workspace is neat and clean through mopping, packing, cleaning, recycling, planning & organizing every Monday.
Manage and maintain toolbox.
Manage & maintain production book with details regarding current jobs, delayed jobs and planned jobs.
Ensure parts fitted are suitable and not faulty.
Ensure quality of work is within acceptable standards at all times.
Adhere to necessary Health & Safety and ISO regulations, this includes wearing necessary protective gear.
Ensure all appropriate blueprint processes are adhered to.
Inspection of new parts supplied before dispatch from store.
Careful inspection of parts before placing them on the build table.
Ensure faulty parts are re-boxed and sent to the store, reporting relevant instances to the Assessor.
Ensure builder gearboxes are in the correct warehouse area
Perform quality assessment of builds and request sign off from the General Manager.
Move completed gearbox units directly to specified vehicle or dispatch area.
Ensure leftover parts are placed in red or black bins and that used parts are packed and discarded on Mondays.
Provide suitable guidance to Gearbox Strippers to maintain proper behavior, order, attendance, discipline and housekeeping.
Ensure loss or lack of tools and equipment are reported to the Workshop Foreman.
Ensure all claims are test driven by the General Manager before pulling the gearbox.
Ensure all units are assessed with Stripper and General Manager. When they arise. By General Manager if instructed to do so.
Breakdowns, deliveries, quality assessment at customer prem.
Search for used parts if necessary.
