GIS Analyst

Akhile Management and Consulting is looking for a skilled and passionate GIS Analyst to join our dedicated team in Pretoria. POSITION INFO:

You will be a key player in growing the Akhile brand, taking the lead on project deliverables from conception to completion. If you are a proactive problem-solver with a passion for spatial data and a desire to see your work make a tangible difference, we want you on our team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Spatial Analysis & Data Management: Use your expertise in ArcGIS (Pro, Online) and spatial analysis techniques to interpret data, identify trends, and provide critical insights for project investigation. You will also manage data integrity and quality assurance activities.
• Application Development: Understand client needs and develop custom web mapping applications, geo-processing tools, and mobile data collection solutions using ESRI Apps (Survey123, Dashboards) to meet specific business requirements.
• Project Delivery & Client Engagement: Take ownership of project deliverables, ensuring they are completed on time and to the highest standard. You will also prepare and deliver presentations and demos to help clients understand the power and utility of the GIS applications you build.
• Technical Leadership & Innovation: Stay current with the latest developments in the GIS field, recommend new technologies, manage software licenses, and contribute to an environment of continuous improvement and efficiency.

What You''ll Need (Qualifications & Experience):

• A BSc degree in GIS, Geomatics, Surveying, or a similar field.
• 3 - 6 years of hands-on work experience in the geospatial industry.
• A valid driver’s license and your own reliable transport.
• Professional registration with the South African Geomatics Council (SAGC) is highly advantageous.

Your Technical Toolkit (Skills & Competencies):

• ESRI Suite: High proficiency in ArcMap, ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online/Portal.
• Scripting & Automation: Experience with Python and/or R for data analysis and process automation.
• ESRI Apps: Experience with Survey123, Operations Dashboards, and other app builders.
• Database Management: Solid experience with Microsoft SQL Server.
• Office Suite: Excellent command of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
