A busy and well-established food outlet in Sandton is looking for a skilled and reliable Fryer to join the kitchen team. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a fast-paced kitchen environment and a strong understanding of fryer operations and food preparation standards.

POSITION INFO:

Minimum Requirements:

• Minimum 1–3 years’ experience working as a fryer or in a similar kitchen role
• Must be based in Sandton or surrounding areas
• Ability to work efficiently in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment
• Good understanding of food safety and hygiene practices
• Strong attention to detail and consistency
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate deep fryers and other kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
• Prepare and cook food items according to standard recipes and portion guidelines.
• Monitor oil quality and temperature to ensure consistent cooking results and food quality.
• Ensure all fried items are cooked to the correct texture, colour, and presentation standards.
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the fryer station at all times.
• Adhere strictly to food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards.
• Assist with food preparation tasks such as portioning, breading, and marinating.
• Manage stock levels of fryer-related items and notify management of shortages.
• Follow FIFO (First-In, First-Out) practices to ensure product freshness and reduce waste.
• Work closely with the kitchen team to ensure timely preparation and service during busy periods.
• Dispose of used oil safely and maintain proper waste management practices.
• Assist with general kitchen duties, including cleaning and closing procedures.
