POSITION INFO:

A foundry in Germiston seeks a qualified Millwright to perform preventative and breakdown maintenance on plant machinery, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal equipment performance.

The successful candidate must be able to:

• Perform preventative, corrective, and breakdown maintenance on production machinery.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic faults.
• Install, align, test, and commission machinery and equipment.
• Respond promptly to breakdowns to minimise downtime.
• Conduct routine inspections and identify potential failures.
• Read mechanical drawings, electrical diagrams, and technical manuals.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, job cards, and reports.
• Assist with shutdowns, upgrades, modifications, and installations.
• Ensure all work complies with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards.
• Perform any other reasonable maintenance duties as instructed.

The successful candidate should have:

• Qualified Millwright with Red Seal certification.
• Minimum 3 to 5 years experience in maintenance within a foundry industry.
• Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills.
• Knowledge of furnaces, hydraulics, pneumatics, motors, gearboxes, conveyors, and pumps.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
• Ability to manage breakdowns timeously.
• PLC fault-finding experience, computer literacy, and maintenance system experience.
• Valid driver''s licence and willingness to work shifts, standby, and overtime.
• Honest, reliable, self-motivated, proactive, with strong conflict management skills.
• Team player, adaptable, safety-conscious, organised, and able to manage self under pressure.
