Form Fill & Seal Operator

SUMMARY:
Our client in the food manufacturing and FMCG industry is looking for an experienced Form Fill and Seal Machine Operator to join their Production Department in Montague Gardens, Cape Town. The successful candidate will operate, monitor and adjust Form Fill and Seal packaging machinery, while ensuring efficient production, quality packaging, accurate production records and safe working practices.

• Grade 12 / Matric.
• Minimum 2–3 years' experience operating Form Fill and Seal machinery in a manufacturing or food production environment.
• Knowledge of packaging processes and machine settings.
• Basic mechanical troubleshooting ability.
• Understanding of GMP and food safety standards will be advantageous.
• Ability to work shifts and overtime when required.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Strong attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate Form Fill and Seal packaging machines efficiently and safely.
• Set up machines according to production requirements and product specifications.
• Adjust machine settings including temperature, speed, sealing and filling parameters.
• Monitor product quality and packaging standards throughout production runs.
• Carry out start-up and shut-down procedures on equipment.
• Perform routine machine inspections and basic preventative maintenance.
• Troubleshoot machine faults and report major breakdowns to the maintenance team.
• Ensure the correct film rolls, labels, coding and packaging materials are used.
• Maintain accurate production and downtime records.
• Minimise wastage and improve machine efficiency.
• Follow food safety, GMP, HACCP and Health & Safety requirements.
• Keep the work area clean and maintain housekeeping standards.
• Assist with stock counts and machine changeovers when required.
• Work closely with the Quality Control and Maintenance teams.
