SUMMARY:
A well-established and prestigious wine estate based in Somerset West is seeking a reliable and safety-conscious Forklift Driver to join their team.

POSITION INFO:
Job Purpose:

To safely operate a forklift to move, load, and store wine products and materials within the warehouse, ensuring efficient stock handling, accuracy, and compliance with safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Safely operate a forklift to load, offload, and move stock
Ensure accurate handling and storage of goods
Assist with stock control and inventory processes
Follow FIFO (First In, First Out) principles
Maintain a clean and safe working environment
Adhere to all health and safety regulations
Assist with general warehouse duties when required

Minimum Requirements:

Grade 12 (Matric)
Valid forklift operator license/certification
2–3 years’ experience operating a forklift
Experience in a warehouse, logistics, or wine/beverage environment (advantageous)
Basic understanding of warehouse operations and stock control
Good communication skills

Skills & Competencies:

Safe and efficient forklift operation
Strong attention to detail
Basic numeracy and record-keeping ability
Ability to follow instructions
Reliable, punctual, and safety-conscious
Team player with a strong work ethic

Working Conditions:

Warehouse and cellar environment (temperature variations, noise, machinery)
Physically demanding role
May require shift work, overtime, and long hours
