Exciting opportunity for a Food Safety Specialist in Midrand – Drive quality, ensure compliance, and shape food safety excellence!

POSITION INFO:
Our client is a leading packaging company, serving FMCG clients across South Africa. They specialise in providing efficient, innovative packaging while maintaining the highest standards of food safety and quality. Duties:

Manage and maintain the company’s food safety and quality systems, including internal and external audits.
Oversee supplier compliance.
Manage direct reports.
Coordinate daily food safety activities.
Drive continuous improvement projects.
Manage customer complaints.
Implement allergen management.
Ensure that all processes comply with regulatory, customer, and company standards.
Maintain accurate reporting and effective communication across teams and stakeholders.

Job Experience and Skills Required:

Qualification in Food Science, Food Technology, or Biotechnology. FSSC 22000/BRC or GFSI experience advantageous.
5+ years' FMCG industry experience in food safety, quality, or production compliance.
Proven knowledge of scientific testing techniques and microbiological/analytical result interpretation.
Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Able to manage teams and liaise across departments.
Computer literate, with attention to detail, numerical accuracy, and willingness to learn new skills.
