They are seeking an experienced, energetic and commercially driven Floor Manager to lead daily retail floor operations and ensure an exceptional shopping experience while driving sales performance, operational excellence and outstanding merchandising standards.

The Opportunity
Reporting directly to the Store Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring that every aspect of the retail floor operates efficiently and professionally.
You will lead by example, motivate your team, optimise merchandising, maximise stock availability and create an environment where excellent customer service translates into increased sales.
This is a highly visible leadership position requiring strong operational discipline, commercial awareness and exceptional people management skills.
Key Responsibilities
Retail Operations
Lead and coordinate all day-to-day retail floor operations.
Ensure the store is clean, organised, safe and customer-ready at all times.
Maintain exceptional presentation standards throughout the sales floor.
Conduct regular floor inspections to uphold operational excellence.
Merchandising Excellence
Ensure shelves remain fully stocked and attractively presented.
Maintain accurate pricing and promotional displays.
Optimise product placement to maximise customer engagement and sales.
Implement visual merchandising initiatives that drive product movement.
Inventory & Stock Control
Monitor stock availability and replenishment.
Maintain high levels of inventory accuracy.
Conduct routine stock counts and investigations.
Minimise stock losses through disciplined inventory control.
Manage damaged, obsolete and slow-moving stock.
Recommend promotional activities to improve stock turnover.
Sales Performance
Drive daily, weekly and monthly sales objectives.
Encourage upselling and cross-selling opportunities.
Monitor sales trends and identify improvement opportunities.
Support promotional campaigns and product launches.
Leadership & Team Development
Lead, coach and mentor the retail team.
Build a high-performance culture focused on accountability and customer service.
Conduct ongoing training and performance coaching.
Manage employee performance fairly, professionally and consistently.
Customer Experience
Deliver exceptional customer service standards.
Resolve customer concerns professionally.
Build strong relationships with trade and retail customers.
Ensure every customer receives knowledgeable and efficient assistance.
Compliance & Store Standards
Maintain health and safety standards.
Ensure compliance with company procedures.
Monitor retail systems and reporting.
Produce accurate operational and stock reports for management.
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for an individual who combines strong leadership ability with excellent retail operational expertise.
You will ideally possess:
Tertiary Diploma level qualification: Retail, Business Management, Sales or similar
Proven experience in retail floor management
Experience within hardware, DIY, building materials, home improvement or homeware retail would be highly advantageous
Strong merchandising and inventory management experience
Excellent leadership and people management skills
Strong commercial awareness and sales focus
Outstanding customer service orientation
High attention to detail
Excellent organisational and problem-solving abilities
Experience working with retail management systems
The ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced retail environment
