Fleet Controller (Pretoria)

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

Continuous monitoring of the trucks and driver’s movement under your control.

Ensures that planned and scheduled loads are picked up and monitor truck movement up to point of delivery.

Monitoring of daily/monthly turnover of the trucks under your control.

Monitoring of the diesel consumption per truck and driving efficiency of the truck drivers.

Liaison with and de-briefing sessions with truck drivers.

Administer and control the daily attendance register of drivers under supervision.

Liaison with the client/s on continuous basis to amicably resolve pertinent issues affecting income and provide feedback on ETA’s.

Qualification and experience:

Minimum Grade 12.

4-6 years related experience as a Fleet Controller in the road freight/logistics industry.

Basic knowledge of Excel, Word and general computer literacy is paramount.

Fluent in English and Afrikaans.

NOTE: This is not an 8:00 to 17:00 job. This job requires extended or irregular hours most of the time.

Ability to commute/relocate:

Pretoria, Gauteng: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required).

Education:

High School (matric) (Required).

Diploma or equivalent in Logistics (Advantage).

Experience:

Fleet Controller: 4 years (Required) which includes:

Route Planning & Scheduling: 2 years (Required).

Truck Monitoring & Driver Management: 2 years (Required).

Client Management & Relationship Management: 2 years (Required).
