SUMMARY:
Position: Fleet Assistant/ Tyre Controller
Location: Based in Alberton in Johannesburg South

Our client is looking for a Fleet Assistant/ Tyre Controller. This position will be based in Alberton in Johannesburg South. We are looking for your work experience in the Logistics Industry.
 
The Fleet Assistant and Tyre Controller will support the daily tyre management and fleet workshop routine, ensuring proper control of tyres, stock accuracy, maintenance follow-up, and fleet availability.
 
Required Knowledge and Experience:

• Matric and relevant Logistics Qualification.
• Experience in tyre management and fleet operations.
• Knowledge of fleet workshop routines and maintenance controls.
• Understanding of tyre inspection, irregular wear analysis, retread and scrap control.
• Experience with stock control, work orders, and supplier follow-up.
• Good Excel and reporting skills.
• Organised, detail-oriented, and able to work in a fast-paced operation.

POSITION INFO:
Key Responsibilities:

• Control tyre movements, including fitment, removal, rotation, replacement, retread and scrap process.
• Maintain accurate tyre history and records per vehicle or trailer.
• Monitor tyre condition through regular inspections and identify irregular wear, damages, and maintenance needs.
• Control tyre stock, casing stock, scrap tyres, and related inventory movements.
• Support workshop routines by following up work orders, tyre-related repairs, and maintenance activities.
• Coordinate with tyre suppliers, fitters, retread vendors, and workshop teams.
• Ensure all tyre changes and maintenance interventions are properly recorded in the system or control sheets.
• Track tyre performance indicators such as tyre life, cost per kilometre, damage rate, and replacement frequency.
• Assist with fleet inspections, yard checks, and stock counts.
• Report operational deviations and support action plans to improve tyre performance and reduce costs.
• Support the fleet team with administrative controls, reports, and daily operational follow-up.

• Daily follow-up of tyre conditions and replacement needs.
• Workshop follow-up for vehicles under maintenance.
• Tyre stock control and physical verification.
• Update of reports, spreadsheets, and fleet systems.
• Follow-up of tyre inspections, retread flow, and scrap process.
• Support daily communication with drivers, workshop staff, and suppliers.
