POSITION INFO:
Job Purpose:
To oversee the daily operations of the flatbed production line, ensuring efficient output, machine uptime, and quality standards are met in alignment with the production plan.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure production orders are completed according to the daily and weekly production plan.
- Monitor and drive team performance to consistently meet or exceed daily production targets.
- Supervise and coordinate activities of machine operators on the flatbed line.
- Oversee machinery cleaning schedules and ensure cleanliness and compliance with factory standards.
- Collaborate with the maintenance team to ensure all machines are routinely serviced and operational, preventing breakdowns and downtime.
- Identify bottlenecks or inefficiencies and implement corrective actions in consultation with the Production Manager.
- Maintain proper records of production, downtime, and operator performance.
- Enforce safety, housekeeping, and operational procedures on the production floor.
Required Skills & Competencies:
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Hands-on knowledge of flatbed machinery and general production processes
- Ability to interpret and execute production plans
- Basic mechanical understanding to support maintenance coordination
- Excellent problem-solving and time-management skills
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality control
Minimum Qualifications & Experience:
- Matric (Grade 12) or equivalent
- Minimum 2–3 years experience in a supervisory role within a manufacturing environment
- Technical training or background in textiles or machinery is advantageous
