POSITION INFO:
Your Role

This position offers an exciting opportunity for a qualified Fitter and Turner with field experience to build a long-term technical career.  

You will use your technical expertise to maintain and repair mechanical equipment on site. You will work closely with client teams to resolve breakdowns and keep heavy machinery running efficiently. Our client provides excellent team support, practical training, and clear opportunities to develop your engineering skills.

Job Description

• Diagnose, repair, and overhaul hydraulic power packs and pneumatic cylinders.
• Use conventional workshop lathes and milling machines to turn and machine custom parts.
• Read and interpret mechanical blueprints and hydraulic circuit drawings accurately.
• Align pumps, motors, and gearboxes using precision tools to prevent machine wear.
• Respond to breakdown calls on mining sites to fix mechanical problems quickly.
• Complete simple field service reports and follow site safety rules at all times.

• A recognized Trade Test Certificate as a qualified Fitter and Turner.
• A valid South African driver's license.
• Practical field service experience on mine sites is highly advantageous but not strictly required.
• A strong, hands-on mechanical aptitude and logical troubleshooting skills.
• A positive, hardworking attitude with a commitment to safe working habits.
