Finishing Foreman - Heritage Building Cape Town
POSITION INFO:
A leading building contractor is seeking an experienced Finishing Foreman to join their team on a prestigious heritage building project in Cape Town.
This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on construction professional with a strong eye for detail and experience delivering high-quality finishes on complex building projects.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage and coordinate all finishing works on site.
- Supervise subcontractors and finishing teams.
- Ensure workmanship meets required quality and heritage standards.
- Coordinate daily activities with the Site Manager and Contracts Manager.
- Monitor programme and ensure finishing activities remain on schedule.
- Inspect completed work and identify defects or areas requiring attention.
- Coordinate snagging, touch-ups and final completion.
- Ensure materials and resources are available when required.
- Maintain a clean, safe and well-organised working environment.
- Work carefully around existing heritage features and finishes.
REQUIREMENTS- 5+ years' experience as a Finishing Foreman on building projects.
- Proven experience with high-end commercial, residential or heritage projects.
- Strong knowledge of building finishes and construction methods.
- Excellent understanding of tiling, ceilings, partitions, plastering, painting, joinery and related finishing trades.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings.
- Strong subcontractor and team-management skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and quality control.
- Ability to work within a demanding construction programme.
- Relevant construction qualifications will be advantageous.
- Previous heritage restoration/refurbishment experience will be highly advantageous.
