POSITION INFO:

Financial Manager – BCom Accounting

ROLE OVERVIEW:

As a Financial Manager, you will be joining a driven and collaborative team within an exciting start up organisation in the subscription rental sector. You will play a critical role in safeguarding the financial integrity and profitability of our business by ensuring accurate accounting and operational involvement in the business.

This is a high-impact role suited for a commercially focused finance manager who thrives in a fast-paced, high potential environment.

As this company is a new start up, it will include some operations duties including fleet management , collections (non-paying customers), vehicle recovery and maintenance etc.

Duties: 

• Track accounting, change orders and customer invoicing to align recognised revenue with actual delivery progress. Ensuring the integrity of the inputs and outputs 

• Monitor and analyse actual costs against budgets provided by project managers.

• Review of cost centre and general ledger. Ensure data is properly matched to the correct cost centres and GL accounts.

• Review and report gross margins per month, identifying trends, risks, and corrective actions.

Working Capital Management and Forecasting

• Maintain accurate records of inventory transactions and valuations

• Analysis of debtors aging and related accounts

• Release of supplier payments along with relevant supporting documents

• Responsible for maintaining costs and working capital forecasts

Reporting, Compliance & Controls

• Review of management accounts and reconciliations

• Review of income tax and deferred tax calculations

• Respond to SARS queries and audits

• Prepare accurate month-end reports and dashboards for finance and executive management.

• Ensure all accounting practices adhere to internal controls, finance policies, and audit requirements.

• Maintain financial documentation to support audits and board-level reporting. 

• Ad hoc requests from departments for info, explanations, help, support etc

QUALIFICATIONS and EXPERIENCE:

BCom Accounting or similar requires

Minimum 3 years’ experience in senior accountant / financial manager position

Understanding in operational finance, accountancy and good notions of company and tax laws is an advantage

PREFERRED SKILLS:

• Strong accounting skills

• High attention to detail and organisational skills.

• Intermediate to Advanced Excel and/or Sage / Pastel skills (or similar)

• Strong communication and customer engagement skills

• Ability to work collaboratively and operationally with cross-functional teams.

• Strong ethical standards and integrity.

• Pro-active and able to work independently with a drive to learn, grow and make valuable contribution

• Ability to work under pressure, and adhere to timelines  

 Salary: +- R50 000pm CTC
