SUMMARY:
Finance Controller, Lydenburg
POSITION INFO:
Our client is looking for an experienced, highly organised and accountable Finance Coordinator to take ownership of the day-to-day finance function.
This is not a junior finance clerk position. We require a strong finance professional with proven experience who can work independently, manage deadlines, supervise finance activities and provide accurate financial information to management.
Experience Required
- 5–7+ years’ experience in finance/accounting.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a senior, supervisory or finance coordinator role.
- Strong hands-on experience managing debtors and creditors.
- Proven experience with bank, supplier and customer reconciliations.
- Experience with VAT, payroll-related finance processes and statutory deadlines.
- Experience preparing monthly financial reports, age analyses and management information.
- Experience with cash-flow forecasting, budgeting and expense control.
- Proven ability to identify, investigate and resolve financial discrepancies.
- Experience managing supplier payments and customer collections.
- Experience supervising or coordinating junior finance/admin staff.
- Experience reporting directly to senior management or directors.
- Experience in a fast-paced SME, mining supply, engineering, construction or project-based environment will be highly advantageous.
- Strong experience with accounting software and advanced Microsoft Excel.
Qualifications
- Relevant Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance or Financial Management.
- BCom and/or professional accounting affiliation will be highly advantageous.

Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and manage the daily finance function.
- Manage debtors, creditors and reconciliations.
- Monitor cash flow, expenses and financial controls.
- Prepare monthly financial reports and age analyses.
- Coordinate VAT, payroll-related finance processes and statutory deadlines.
- Manage supplier payments and customer collections.
- Identify financial discrepancies, risks and control weaknesses.
- Supervise finance/admin staff and monitor quality and deadlines.
- Provide accurate financial information and solutions to management.
Additional Requirements
- Own reliable transport and valid driver’s licence required.
- Fluent in English and Afrikaans.
- Foreign candidates will be considered, subject to appropriate passport and visa/work authorisation.
