POSITION INFO:
Company and Job Description:
An opportunity exists for a highly skilled and detail-oriented Financial Controller to join the finance team. The successful candidate will play a critical role in stock control, financial reporting, and commercial analysis, with a strong focus on trading performance, margin management, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:
Stock Reporting & Control

Process stock-related adjustments and journal entries
Ensure alignment between WMS and Pastel in collaboration with the National Inventory Manager
Support and participate in monthly stock counts, audits, and variance analysis
Assist in investigations relating to stock discrepancies from a financial perspective
Reconcile Trial Balance to Inventory Valuation monthly and resolve variances
Ensure accurate costing and average cost maintenance in Pastel
Support resolution of all stock-related financial issues

Financial Reporting & Analysis

Manage Liquor P&L reporting within management accounts
Maintain liquor margin and rebate schedules
Calculate monthly liquor working capital requirements and labour costs
Perform GP margin and P&L movement analysis
Calculate rebates, growth incentives, and distribution allowances
Support credit control in resolving outstanding claims and debit queries
Prepare inputs for audits and annual budgeting processes
Conduct monthly distribution centre financial reviews
Perform balance sheet reconciliations and support monthly payments processes

General Financial & Commercial Support

Approve new product listings and price deviations
Assist operations with reprints and reporting requirements
Maintain and update master trading terms and supplier agreements
Liaise with suppliers on pricing and contractual queries
Provide daily pricing investigations and sales trend analysis
Support development and review of standard operating procedures (SOPs)
Ensure compliance with supplier data reporting obligations
Review and interpret trading terms for executive approval

Job Experience and Skills Required:
BCom Accounting Degree
3 - 4 years’ experience in a similar position.
Experience in a stock environment would be beneficial
Strong understanding of financial reporting, controls, and compliance frameworks
Advanced MS Excel and accounting system proficiency
