POSITION INFO:
Company and Job Description:
An established organisation is seeking a professionally qualified Financial Accountant to join its Finance team. Reporting to the Financial Manager, this role is responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining strong internal controls, and supporting business performance through insightful financial analysis.

This position offers the opportunity to contribute across multiple areas of the business, including financial reporting, team oversight, compliance, and operational support.

Key Responsibilities:
Financial Accounting & Reporting

Prepare monthly trial balances and management accounts
Perform variance analysis and provide insightful commentary
Ensure balance sheet integrity through detailed reconciliations
Maintain compliance with IFRS and statutory requirements
Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting

Month-End Close

Coordinate and manage the full month-end process
Oversee reconciliations across debtors, creditors, bank, inventory, fixed assets, and general ledger
Submit trial balances and supporting schedules within deadlines

Team Oversight & Support

Provide guidance and review support to finance team members
Ensure accuracy and compliance of team outputs
Assist with mentoring, training, and process improvements

Budgeting & Forecasting

Assist in annual budgeting and monthly forecasting
Perform actual vs budget analysis
Support cost control and financial planning initiatives

Cash Flow & Banking

Prepare weekly cash flow forecasts
Monitor working capital (debtors, creditors, inventory)
Assist with payment preparation and bank reporting

Compliance, Tax & Audit

Prepare VAT, PAYE, and statutory returns
Ensure compliance with relevant legislation
Support external audits and resolve audit queries

Governance & Process Improvement

Maintain and improve financial policies and procedures
Strengthen internal controls and governance processes
Identify and implement process improvements

Job Experience and Skills Required:
BCom Accounting or equivalent
Professional registration (SAIPA)
Post-articles commercial experience
Experience in manufacturing or consumer goods (advantageous)
Proven experience in financial reporting and internal controls
Advanced Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, formulas, reporting models)
Strong understanding of IFRS and South African tax regulations
