POSITION INFO:

My client, a well-established player in the distribution and warehousing sector, is seeking a Financial Accountant to join their team based in Springs. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented finance professional who thrives in a high-volume environment and is eager to take responsibility for core accounting functions while managing a junior team member.
Reporting to senior finance leadership, the successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining strong controls, and supporting business decision-making. With one junior direct report, this role offers the opportunity to develop leadership capability while remaining operationally involved.

Key Responsibilities:

Preparation and review of monthly management accounts
Ensuring accurate financial reporting, reconciliations, and compliance
Managing general ledger, journals, and balance sheet reconciliations
Overseeing and mentoring one junior direct report
Assisting with budgets, forecasts, and audit processes

Job Experience and Skills Required:

Education: BCom Degree (Accounting or Finance essential)
Experience: Proven experience in a Financial Accountant role, preferably within distribution, warehousing, or similar operational environments
Leadership: Experience managing or supervising junior staff advantageous
Skills: Strong Excel skills; ERP system experience beneficial
Other: Strong attention to detail, deadline-driven, and able to work independently
