Company and Job Description:

An established organisation is seeking a Finance Officer to join their finance team on a 4-month fixed-term contract. This opportunity offers a hybrid working environment and exposure to a fast-paced finance function where accuracy, efficiency, and accountability are essential.

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting daily finance operations, maintaining accurate financial records, performing reconciliations, and assisting with financial reporting. The organisation values professionalism, ownership, and a strong commitment to meeting deadlines.

This position is based in Midrand, with preference given to candidates residing between Fourways and Hatfield for ease of travel to the office.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform account reconciliations and investigate variances
Maintain accurate financial records and financial reporting schedules
Assist with month-end finance processes and reporting requirements
Process financial transactions in accordance with company procedures
Prepare and analyse financial information and supporting schedules
Ensure compliance with internal controls and finance policies
Support the finance team with ad hoc projects and reporting requirements

Job Experience and Skills Required:

Education:

BCom Accounting Degree (Non-Negotiable)

Experience:

Minimum 2 years' relevant finance experience
Experience working within a corporate finance environment
Previous exposure to financial reporting and reconciliations

Skills:

Sage Evolution (Non-Negotiable)
Advanced Microsoft Excel (Non-Negotiable)
Full Microsoft Office Suite proficiency

Competencies:

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Meticulous attention to detail
Deadline-driven with excellent organisational skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work independently and within a team environment

Additional Information:

Hybrid working model
Midrand-based office
Fixed-term contract (approximately 4 months)
Intended start date: 4 January 2027
Candidates must be flexible as an earlier start date may be required
