Finance Officer

The Finance Officer will be responsible for a broad range of financial, accounting, and administrative functions to support the financial sustainability, compliance, and operational excellence.

Purpose of the Role
The Finance Officer will be responsible for a broad range of financial, accounting, and administrative functions to support the financial sustainability, compliance, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation of budgets and financial reports
• Maintain the general ledger, reconcile accounts, and process supplier invoices
• Prepare monthly and quarterly management reports, including variance analyses
• Ensure compliance with donor requirements and Department of Social Development (DSD) reporting standards
• Assist with annual audits and maintain accurate financial records and systems
• Manage asset registers, insurance claims, and motor vehicle monitoring
• Conduct internal audits and support internal control processes

• Strong proficiency in Pastel Evolution (essential)
• Advanced Excel skills
• Sound accounting and bookkeeping knowledge
• Understanding of fund accounting and NGO financial management
• Effective communication and organisational skills
• Knowledge of relevant financial legislation and policies
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and work under pressure

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
• At least 3 years’ experience in a finance role
• Previous experience in the NGO sector
• Proficiency in computerized accounting systems essential
• Valid driver’s license
• Police Clearance certificate
