Finance & Costing Officer

SUMMARY:
Our Client is seeking a skilled Finance & Costing Officer to manage financial administration, costing, and reporting within their transport/logistics operations.

POSITION INFO:

Minimum Requirements

• Certificate in Accounting, Finance, or related field will be advantageous
• 3–5 years’ experience in bookkeeping, costing, or financial administration (transport/logistics experience a plus).
• Strong knowledge of SA accounting principles, VAT, PAYE & UIF.
• Advanced MS Excel; Sage, Pastel, or similar.
• Excellent analytical, reconciliation, and reporting skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage bank, debtor, and creditor reconciliations; issue invoices & statements.
• Handle month-end/year-end reporting packs and fleet expense reconciliations.
• Calculate and verify job costing (labour, fuel, overtime, maintenance, etc.).
• Produce weekly/monthly costing and wage/income forecasts.
• Prepare VAT returns and support PAYE/UIF/tax submissions.
• Conduct profitability analysis and advise on cost-control strategies.
• Liaise with customers and suppliers on accounts, billing, and quotes.
• Maintain cost-tracking systems and support finance automation
