This is an opportunity for a guide who wants a more grounded, balanced lifestyle without giving up the quality of guest experience found in a top-tier reserve. The role suits someone who loves sharing this coastal and floral landscape with guests, from whale sightings to the region's rich plant life.

Core Criteria:

• Relevant guiding qualifications
• Previous field guiding experience, ideally within a luxury lodge or private reserve
• Strong knowledge of local wildlife, flora, and conservation practices
• Confident, professional guest interaction and hosting ability
• Valid driver's licence and own transport advantageous
• Able to work well independently and as part of a team

• Guide guests on drives and walks, sharing knowledge of the reserve's wildlife and fynbos environment
• Deliver engaging, memorable guest experiences from arrival to departure
• Build rapport with allocated guests throughout their stay
• Maintain a professional, well-presented standard at all times
• Support the wider guiding and hosting team as needed

• Salary: R11,000 to R16,000, depending on qualifications and experience
• Staff accommodation available roughly 10 minutes from the lodge, at R2,500 per month (most guides live independently or share)
• Structured tipping policy with good earning potential
• Typical hours 08:00 to 18:00, often finishing earlier
• Transport assistance available for guides who need it getting to and from the lodge
