SUMMARY:
DBN000163 – Extraction Manager – KZN North Coast
 
Purpose of the job:
To oversee all aspects of farm operations to ensure efficiency, profitability, and sustainability.
 
Required Qualifications

1. Diploma, or BSc degree in agronomy, plant pathology, entomology or closely aligned field will be advantageous.
2. AVCASA and BASOS will be advantageous.
3. 5+ years’ experience in farm management with experience in various crops in a similar position.
4. Experience in supervising employees.

POSITION INFO:
Technical Competencies and responsibilities

1. Managing every facet of farm operations unsupervised.
2. Management of a variety of annual and permanent crops, including planting, fertilizing, spraying, pruning, and harvesting.
3. Outstanding comprehension and interpretation of the calibrations required for agricultural operations.
4. Overseeing farm workers
5. Assisting management team to maintain the infrastructure so that high-quality trials can be provided to the client.
6. Ensuring timely and appropriate maintenance and repair of buildings, irrigation systems, equipment, and other infrastructure.
7. Managing the effective daily operations of greenhouse and field operations.
8. Compiling data on new crop types, farm technologies, and other advancements in regional farming methods.
9. Increase farming operations' productivity and profitability.
10. Support the general manager in ensuring compliance with the Occupational Health & Safety Act.
