POSITION INFO:
A well-established table grape producer located in the Worcester area, has an exciting opportunity available for a dedicated and trustworthy Farm Manager to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for table grapes and farming, enjoy new challenges, and have good practical problem-solving skills.
Responsibilities:
- Planning and supervision of production activities
- Administration and record-keeping
- Liaison with suppliers and specialists in the industry
- Oversee the maintenance and repairs w.r.t. infrastructure, premises, implements and vehicles
- Personnel management
- Feedback and reporting to farm owner
Requirements:
- Matric certificate
- Practical knowledge with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in table grapes
- Applicable tertiary qualification (Degree/Diploma in Agriculture) would be advantageous
- Technical / practical aptitude
- Good experience in working with general workers
- Excellent interpersonal and conflict management skills
- Good communication skills (Afrikaans and English)
- Excellent organisational and planning skills
- Computer literate and proficient in the use of MS Office (previous experience with DiPAR planning system would be advantageous)
- Ability to function well under pressure and prioritise tasks
- Willingness to learn
- Ability to work independently
- Driver’s licence
Accommodation will be available on the farm for the successful incumbent. A market related remuneration package will be negotiated in line with qualifications and experience.
