We are seeking a dedicated and hands-on Farm Assistant Manager to support daily operations on a hydroponic farm. This role is ideal for a practical, physically fit individual with strong leadership ability and a passion for agriculture.

Requirements

• Diploma in Agriculture (preferred)
• Matric with good basic maths skills (essential)
• Valid driver’s licence (essential)
• Ability to supervise staff and lead by example
• Physically fit and able to work in hot conditions
• Practical, proactive, and solutions-driven
• Willing to participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation, including weekend irrigation duties

Key Responsibilities

• Work with plants in a hydroponic environment
• Supervise and coordinate labour activities alongside the Head Grower
• Ensure consistent quality of work from the labour team
• Oversee crop work and general farm operations
• Monitor and report on labour performance vs budget weekly
• Manage timekeeping and handle basic disciplinary matters
• Assist with problem-solving and operational challenges
• Ensure equipment is functioning effectively and report maintenance needs
• Maintain a neat, efficient, and productive farm environment
• Follow and communicate instructions clearly (verbal and written)
• Perform duties independently, with good judgement and adaptability
