JOB DESCRIPTION:

Our client has an opportunity available for a Factory Supervisor in the South of JHB

We need the expertise of a person who has worked extensively in the paper bag manufacturing industry

Requirements:

Matric with Mathematics and Science.
Bag Maker Trade with 5 years post trade manufacturing experience
Tertiary qualification in a related field would be advantageous.
Previous experience in a supervisory capacity.
Previous experience in the set-up, operation and troubleshooting of Paper Bag machines.
The ability to do physical work.
An understanding of product quality standards, packing specifications and safety standards.
Willing to work overtime and on weekends when required.

Responsibilities:

Schedule, coordinate, and execute daily tasks in line with the production schedule.
Supervise departmental personnel and the allocation of labour resources.
Ensure machines are running to specification speed and daily production targets are being achieved.
Report any unsafe machine or workplace practice.
Assist machine operators and minders with troubleshooting and fine-tuning of machines.
Coordinate the cleaning, lubrication and maintenance of machines, tools, equipment and work areas.
Weigh or measure materials and products to ensure adherence to the specifications.
Add or adjust chemicals, solutions, inks to machines and equipment to ensure the manufacturing process meets the required specifications.
Maintain Housekeeping standards in the machine area.
Assist in the operation of other machines when required.
Work with packers and assist in packing when required.
