SUMMARY:
Control all factory Operations within the manufacturing space at this dynamic company in operating in the glass and aluminium manufacturing space.

POSITION INFO:

As the Factory Manager, you will ensure that all products are manufactured correctly, on time and within cost, by controlling factory operations, planning, quality and resources.

The role protects the business by ensuring:

right-first-time workmanship
reliable production output
controlled manufacturing cost
disciplined factory operations

Responsibilities and Outcomes:

Ensure all jobs are clearly understood before manufacturing (drawings, specs, job cards)
Plan and coordinate production (sequence, capacity, priorities)
Control quality through in-process checks and final sign-off
Manage time vs allowed time per job and implement improvements
Control stock, materials and store processes
Ensure machines, tools and equipment are properly used and maintained
Enforce discipline, accountability and work standards in the team
Ensure compliance with health and safety requirements
Maintain structured reporting and communication with management
Support training and development of factory staff
Consistent right-first-time quality aligned to drawings and specifications
On-time production output in line with planning commitments
Controlled labour productivity (time vs allowed time)
Effective job planning and factory coordination
Accurate and controlled stock and material usage
Safe, clean and compliant factory environment
Disciplined, accountable and productive team

Education:

Matric
Technical relevant qualification - to your advantage
Computer literate
Excellent communication skills

If you understand production priorities and sequencing, allocation of labour and resources, acceptance or rejection of workmanship, when to stop, rework or escalate a job, stock usage and material control decisions, corrective actions for quality and productivity issues you might be interested in this role.

To succeed in this role, you will understand on-time production output, first-time quality / rework levels, labour time vs allowed time, stock accuracy and shortages, Factory discipline and compliance and Health and Safety compliance.
