Factory Manager

SUMMARY:
As a Factory Manager, you will oversee all aspects of laundry operations, ensuring efficient and high-quality service while managing staff, inventory, and equipment. You will be responsible for maintaining standards, managing costs, and ensuring a safe work environment. Hospitality background would be an added advantage (Based in Durban, Phoenix)

POSITION INFO:

Key Deliverables 

• Comprehensive understanding of the laundry / production process
• Comprehensive understanding of the supply and demand chain
• Comprehensive understanding of the production process and maintenance processes required in a
• production environment
• Comprehensive understanding of SHEQ and ISO processes and systems implementation and the
• preparation for site audits to ensure that all quality control practices are implemented and adhered to
• Understanding of budgets, finance, financial systems and the managing of costs and expenditure related to
• the business to ensure cost effective processes and practices
• Understanding of all related legislation and ability to ensure compliance to relevant legislation
• Understanding of labour relations, grievance procedures and disciplinary procedures and the ability to
• expedite relevant actions / measures
• Proficient computer literacy on MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook and company related software system
• Excellent customer and interpersonal skills
• Ability to identify, develop, implement and ensure compliance to standard operating procedures relating to
• the production and quality related processes
• Ability to liaise with customers, feedback and customer relations.
• Ability to communicate, both verbally and written, clearly and accurately in English
• Ability to manage the budgets, production processes at various sites
• Ability to analyze, optimize and improve overall performance of the equipment, staff and the production
• processes at various sites
• Ability to liaise with customers, feedback and customer relations.
• Ability to do workforce planning, manage the performance of the staff and discipline staff when required
• Ability to mentor and coach supervisors, team leaders and production workers
• Ability to draw up production planning schedules, monitoring and tracking of compliance against the
• schedules and the ability to pro-actively take corrective actions on deviations from the production schedules
• Ability to converse in an African language will be highly advantageous

• Must have in depth understanding of business acumen
• Must have own transport and valid driver’s license
• Must be able to work shifts, weekends and Public Holidays when required
• Must be able to travel extensively within the Inland region and nationally when required
• Minimum of 5 years Operations/Logistics management experience in a hospitality/customer service-related industry
• Minimum of 5 years in a people management role
• Minimum of a National Diploma in Operations Management or equivalent
• Certificate/Equivalent training in SHEQ and Quality Management is preferable
