JOB DESCRIPTION:

Responsibilities
Provide efficient maintenance support service to operations teams:

  • Provide appropriate information and support in connection with Maintenance issues, such as equipment failure or breakdown
  • Coordinate, implement, and support the implementation of maintenance initiatives Examples - Telephonic support, internet support, mail support, and once a quarter of Store Visits.
  • Monitors the implementation of Maintenance Captains throughout all of the Companies Stores
  • Follow up with high priority maintenance issues
  • Quality checks on maintenance and repairs
  • Ensure all maintenance gets resolved quickly and effectively:
  • Support, coach, and manage maintenance clerks
  • Make sure that maintenance is completed to standards
  • Support stores with maintenance issues
  • Ensure monthly stock balance
  • Implementing a stock tracking system
  • Balance monthly stock
  • Compare and track monthly stock movements
  • Compare invoices received with the stock tracking sheet
  • Support, coach, and manage maintenance clerks to order- receive- and book out all stock:
  • To order stock
  • To order stock for stores when a specific item gets low on stock levels
  • To order equipment for stores to be delivered and or installed during a revamp
  • To follow up on orders and ensure that orders will be received timeously and if not, to inform the supervisor of the delay for whatever reason possible
  • To pursue someone to get the stock and or equipment delivered quickly and on time
  • To receive stock
  • To check that all stock received corresponds with the invoice delivered
  • To pack stock away and ensure that volumes are on a standard
  • To hold stock that was wrongly delivered and return to the supplier
  • To book out stock
  • To list all stock booked out and make sure that it has the necessary paperwork accompanying it
  • To check and ensure that stock booked out for a specific store was well used in the store and not in another store, creating confusion in terms of wrong charges and double charges
  • To keep track of stock and receive the stock back that wasn''t used, to then book it back in accordingly
  • To track costs versus budget and effectively support store management in maintenance of cost management:
  • To track actual vs. budget maintenance expenses per store and assist/support store management in cost management within certain parameters
  • To list all work done at all stores with the cost of work per store, per total weekly, and total monthly
  • To explain why a store is above its budget and where possible mitigate future issues
  • Examples: Stores can have a sudden emergency breakdown that has to be done that costs a lot of money; (or) the small wares booked out to the specific store were needed and the store couldn''t operate without it/ affecting operations.Other Functional Duties:
  • Champion the maintenance function
  • Review the full scope of the current maintenance function
  • Attend brainstorming meetings with a dedicated review team, with representatives from Operations, Training, Finance, and IT, to plan and formulate a best practice plan for the maintenance function
  • Review the technology requirement component of the maintenance function
  • Liaise with training department in planning and implementing a full training spec and effective training program on preventative maintenance, maintenance reporting and procedures, and best practice.
  • Monitor suppliers, contractors'' product/work quality
  • Assess and compare costs on a regular basis
  • On-going review of the maintenance function, and ongoing meetings with other departments for assessing best practices and continuous improvement.
  • General Administration
  • Effective stock controls and management
  • Build effective relationships with contractors
  • Maintain appropriate workplace interface
  • Effectively deal with equipment breakdowns
  • Ensure quotes received are market-related and appropriate
  • Sourcing better price, but still quality products and service
  • Emergency standby in case of serious maintenance issues
  • After an hour call line standby
  • Any additional tasks/projects as assigned by the Development and Maintenance Manager from time to time

Requirements

  • Qualified Electrician / Plumber
  • Matric/Grade 12
  • Experience and knowledge of running a fully functional fast food outlet, technical knowledge (electrical, plumbing, etc.) would be an advantage
  • Minimum of 8 years of related Maintenance and Facilities Management experience
  • Ability to manage and work with Teams and People at All levels from Executive Management to workers
  • Computer literacy - Excel, Word, Outlook
  • Good written verbal and communication skills
