Fabricating Welder
Our client, in the construction industry is seeking a Fabricating Welder who will be responsible for fabricating, assembling, and welding metal structures, components, and parts to meet production and project requirements. This role requires strong technical skills, precision, and the ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
Location: Port Elizabeth/ Gqeberha
Job type: Permanent - On site
Duties and Responsibilities
- Read, interpret, and follow engineering drawings, blueprints, and work orders.
- Cut, shape, and fabricate metal components
- Perform MIG, TIG, and/or Arc welding to assemble and join metal parts.
- Ensure welds meet quality standards through inspection and testing.
- Carry out repairs and modifications to existing structures and equipment.
- Perform routine maintenance checks on welding equipment and report faults.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 / Matric (or equivalent).
- Recognised welding/fabrication trade test or certification preferred.
- 2–5 years’ experience in welding and metal fabrication.
- Proven experience as a Welder/Fabricator in a manufacturing, engineering, or construction environment.
- Proficiency in MIG, TIG, and/or Arc welding techniques.
- Ability to read and work from engineering drawings and technical instructions.
- Skilled in metal fabrication, cutting, and finishing
- Knowledge of different metals (mild steel, stainless steel, aluminium, etc.) and their welding requirements.
