FOH (Reception & Manager's Assistant)

SUMMARY:
A storied heritage lodge overlooking South Africa's famous Zulu War battlefields in the KwaZulu-Natal Battlefields region is seeking an ambitious and polished 𝗥𝗘𝗖𝗘𝗣𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡 & 𝗠𝗔𝗡𝗔𝗚𝗘𝗥'𝗦 𝗔𝗦𝗦𝗜𝗦𝗧𝗔𝗡𝗧 to join their team.

POSITION INFO:
This is a hands-on, guest-facing role suited to a well-spoken, highly presentable individual who thrives on personalised service and genuine guest interaction, particularly at mealtimes. The successful candidate will be based primarily at reception but will also support the Manager and step in across departments as operational needs arise.

Core Criteria:

• Complete fluency in both written and spoken English essential
• Valid driver's licence essential
• General lodge/hospitality experience across some or all of: general management, staff management, guest relations and front desk, food & beverage/kitchen oversight, reservations, stock control, and housekeeping
• Knowledge of the SEMPER reservations system an advantage
• Highly presentable with excellent interpersonal skills
• Strong management and organisational ability
• Team player with a good sense of humour
• Own vehicle beneficial, given limited public transport access to the area

• Manage day-to-day reception and front desk operations
• Assist the Manager across departments as required
• Engage warmly with guests, particularly during dining room service
• Relieve in various departments (kitchen, housekeeping, reservations) when needed
• Handle reservations, including use of the SEMPER system where applicable
• Oversee stock control processes
• Support staff management and general lodge administration

• Live-in position with en-suite accommodation, all meals, and laundry included
• Salary negotiable from R9,000, depending on experience
