FARM MANAGER

SUMMARY:
Kent area – United Kingdom: The successful candidate will be responsible for all farming aspects outside of viticulture. This would include but is not limited to livestock management, subsidy management, arable. Biodiversity, estate gardening and maintenance.
 
Due to the accommodation on the farm this position would suit a single person.

POSITION INFO:
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
 

• HND Level (SVQ Level 8) or equivalent experience in Agriculture, Ecology, Environmental Science, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years-experience in a farm management role.
• Proven experience in farm and conservation land management, with a strong understanding of regenerative agriculture and biodiversity conservation.
• Knowledge of organic farming regulations, Agri-environment schemes, and farm compliance standards. Knowledge of farm Health & safety requirements
• Strong knowledge of farming market trends.
• Good understanding of budgeting and financial planning.

• Managing a team of three across all arable and livestock farming aspects.
• Developing and managing a sustainable crop rotation systems with clear revenue streams.
• Work alongside the vineyard team in optimising soil health prior vine planting.
• Carry out maintenance of headland, verges and hedgerows across the estate in line with conservation best practices.
• Pasture management and improvement to maintain appropriate nutritional levels for livestock following PfL guidelines.
• Implementing Stewardship Scheme land management and habitat restoration objectives and contributing to annual reporting.
• Enforcing safety regulations and farm policy, implementing corrective actions as required.
