SUMMARY:
Our client, a market frontrunner with over 50 years of being one of Africa's leading suppliers in their industry, delivering quality products and services across the continent, is looking for an External Sales Representative, who will be based in the Western Cape, for a 3-month fixed term contract.

POSITION INFO:
Job Purpose:

To generate revenue by promoting and selling company products or services to new and existing clients.
Be responsible for meeting sales targets, building strong customer relationships, and representing the brand professionally in the market.

Minimum Qualifications:

Matric.
Sales, Marketing, or Business Degree/Diploma (advantageous).
Minimum 2 years of experience in an external sales role (DIY/Hardware experience preferred).
Proven track record in external sales (preferably in Retail, hardware).

Key Responsibilities:

Identify and pursue new sales opportunities within assigned territory or customer segment.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing clients to ensure repeat business and customer satisfaction.
Conduct regular visits to customer locations, perform product presentations, and provide sales support.
Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts in line with company policies.
Meet or exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets.
Maintain accurate records of all sales activities in the CRM system.
Attend trade shows, exhibitions, and events to promote products and network with potential clients.
Provide market feedback, competitor analysis, and customer insights to management.
Work closely with internal teams (marketing, operations, logistics) to ensure smooth order processing and delivery.
Stay up to date with product knowledge and industry trends.

Strong negotiation and closing abilities.
Self-motivated and results-driven.
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
Good administrative and reporting skills.
Comfortable using CRM systems and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint & Word).
Valid driver’s license (essential due to travel requirements).
