External Sales Rep - FMCG

SUMMARY:
My client, a successful wholesale company with offices all over South Africa is seeking to employ a Sales Representative for the branch in Port Elizabeth. Previous experience in in the FMCG environment will be an advantage.

POSITION INFO:

The Sales Representative is tasked with achieving maximum sales profitability and growth within an assigned customer base by effectively selling the company’s products and/or related services.

Responsibilities:

• Personally, contact, and secure new business accounts and customers.
• Handle customer complaints
• Prepare a variety of status reports, including activity, closings, follow-up, and adherence to goals to be presented to the sales manager on a weekly basis.
• Utilise on daily basis Skynamo as a tool for all sales activities and maintain and update all information required relating to the customer database, sales activities, and personal movement.
• Communicate new product and service opportunities, special developments, information, or feedback gathered through field activity to the appropriate Company staff.
• Present and sell Company products and services to current and potential clients.
• Prepare action plans and schedules to identify specific targets and to project the number of contacts to be made.
• Follow up on new leads and referrals resulting from field activity.
• Identify sales prospects and contact these and other accounts as assigned.
• Prepare presentations, proposals, and sales contracts.
• Develop and maintain sales materials and current product knowledge.
• Establish and maintain current client and potential client relationships.
• Prepare paperwork to activate and maintain contract services.
• Participate in marketing events such as seminars, trade shows, and telemarketing events.
• Follow-up for collection of payment.
• Coordinate shipping schedules and delivery of merchandise and services.
• Provide on-the-job training to new sales employees.
• Manage account services through quality checks and other follow-ups.
• Coordinate company staff to accomplish the work required to close sales.
• Develop and implement special sales activities to reduce stock.
• Assist in the implementation of Company marketing plans as needed.
• Ensure monthly sales targets are achieved as a set and agreed with the Sales Manager.
• Act as the first point of contact with regards to customer queries.
• Liaise with relevant telesales clerk daily to ensure customer relationships are optimally managed and queries are resolved promptly.
• Assist the sales team as operationally required.

Requirements:

• Drivers licence
• Own vehicle
• FMCG experience
• At least 2 years’ experience in sales
• Driven and self-motivated
• Hard-working
