JOB DESCRIPTION:

Our clients, a leading distributor of automotive parts, is seeking an External Sales Consultant for their in Johannesburg branch. 

 

Requirements:

  • 5 years proven experience as an External Sales Consultant.
  • Technical drawing, suspension or mechanical experience would be an advantage.
  • Have an understanding of 4x4 vehicles or related industry.
  • Understanding of sales principles and ability to deliver excellent customer service.
  • Strong (verbal and written) communication skills with an ability to build relationships.
  • Effective presentation and negotiation skills.
  • High degree of professionalism.
  • Good time-management skills with a problem-solving attitude.
  • Contact clients to understand their requirements and work on a sales plan.
  • Provide after-sales support to retain customers.
  • Ensure prompt and accurate answers to clients’ queries.
  • Build strong client relationships, through regular communication.
  • Report on the status of customer accounts.
  • Suggest company products/services that maximize client satisfaction.
  • Coordinate with Account Executives and Account Managers to create customized sales plans for key clients.
  • Promote new products/services to existing customers.
  • Fully vaccinated for Covid 19.
  • Must be able to work under pressure and pay attention to detail.
  • Core responsibility would be to cultivate new business.
  • Must be well spoken and professional.
  • Must be able to speak English and Afrikaans.
  • Thorough understanding of marketing and negotiating techniques.
  • Fast learner and passion for sales.
  • Self-motivated with a results-driven approach.
  • Conduct market research to identify selling possibilities and evaluate customer needs.
  • Actively seek out new sales opportunities through cold calling, networking and social media.
  • Set up meetings with potential clients and listen to their wishes and concerns.
  • Prepare and deliver appropriate presentations on products and services..
  • Ensure the availability of stock for sales and demonstrations.
  • Negotiate/close deals and handle complaints or objections.
  • Collaborate with team members to achieve better results.
  • Gather feedback from customers or prospects and share with sales teams and management.
  • Experience in heavy duty vehicles/truck and trailer parts/Off Road vehicle accessories/Industrial equipment/Vehicle sales.
  • Fast learner and have good problem solving skills.
  • Customer service specialist and target driven essential.
  • Must be computer literate, email / word / excel
  • Experience in Pastel would be an advantage.
  • Must have a matric certificate.
  • Driver’s license (08)
  • Must be credit clear, no ITC problems or Judgements, no criminal record.
  • Must be independent and an extrovert.

 

Offer

  • Salary would depend on experience
  • The company does pay a 13th cheque in December and Profit share annually.
  • Company vehicle and fuel provided for use during office hours.

 

Office hours are Monday to Friday 07:30 to 16:30 – Employee is required to be at the office 20 mins earlier.
