As Executive for Data Management & Analytics, you’ll be the driving force behind enterprise-wide data governance, architecture, and analytics strategy - ensuring the business makes smarter, faster, and more compliant decisions. You’ll have full ownership of shaping a data-driven culture, aligning cross-functional teams, and establishing the frameworks that make data a true strategic asset.

POSITION INFO:
This role is for a visionary leader who thrives at the intersection of business, technology, and innovation. You’ll get the autonomy to influence C-suite decisions, work with best-in-class tech (Azure Synapse, SQL, metadata and MDM platforms), and lead the charge in setting the company’s long-term data direction.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead the design and execution of the organization's data management and analytics strategy, aligned with business priorities.
Champion data governance, quality, and compliance to meet South African regulatory standards.
Oversee the architecture, ingestion, and maintenance of enterprise-wide data, ensuring consistency and reliability.
Drive analytics use cases for key support functions (Finance, Risk, HR, Actuarial), embedding data insights into day-to-day decision-making.
Collaborate with IT to maintain scalable and compliant data infrastructure and pipelines.
Build and lead a high-performing team, fostering a culture of ownership and performance excellence.

Job Experience and Skills Required:

Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Computer Science, or similar (Master’s preferred).
8+ years in data, analytics, or tech-related roles within financial services, telecoms, or insurance.
3+ years in a senior leadership or enterprise data management capacity.
Proven success in implementing large-scale data governance, analytics, and architecture strategies.
Strong technical background in Azure Synapse, SQL, and data integration tools.
In-depth understanding of South African data governance and regulatory compliance.
Strategic thinker with the ability to bridge business and technology.
Strong communication and presentation skills - confident engaging with executives.
Ability to lead, coach, and inspire a multidisciplinary data team.
Passion for driving continuous improvement and innovation through data.
