POSITION INFO:

Executive Chef

Location: Johannesburg

Employment Type: Full-Time

Salary: R30,000 (neg)

We are seeking an exceptional Executive Chef to lead our culinary team and oversee all aspects of kitchen operations. The ideal candidate is a passionate culinary professional with strong leadership skills, creativity, and a commitment to delivering outstanding food and memorable dining experiences.

Key Responsibilities

Lead, mentor, and develop the culinary team.
Oversee daily kitchen operations and food production.
Create and maintain innovative, high-quality menus.
Ensure consistent food quality, presentation, and portion control.
Good stock controls and stock rotation
Manage food costs, inventory, purchasing, and supplier relationships.
Maintain the highest standards of hygiene, food safety, and kitchen cleanliness.
Monitor kitchen budgets and operational expenses.
Responsible for all food orders, storerooms and fridge and deep freezes
Collaborate with management to develop culinary concepts and special events.

Requirements

Proven experience as an Executive Chef, Head Chef, or senior culinary leader.
At least 3+ years relevant experience
Professional culinary qualification preferred.
Be aware of special dietary needs
Correct chemicals and sufficient cleaning materials to be in stock at all times
Strong knowledge of modern culinary techniques and food trends.
Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
Proven ability to manage food costs and kitchen budgets.
High standards of quality, consistency, and attention to detail.
Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Must adhere to World Class Hospitality and Service Standards
Honest, have good integrity, proactive and drive
