SUMMARY:
DBN000366 - Estimator(Freight Forwarding & Logistics) - Umhlanga

Purpose of the Job:
To prepare freight quotations that balance customer needs, pricing, profitability and turnaround time.

Required Qualifications:

Diploma or Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Finance or a related field.
Minimum 2 years’ experience in freight forwarding, logistics or transport planning.
Experience in estimating or pricing is preferred.
Proficiency in CargoWise.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

POSITION INFO:
Technical Competencies & Experience:

Prepare accurate quotations for import, export, air, sea and road freight, including all costs, routes, transit times and surcharges.
Source and negotiate competitive rates with carriers, suppliers, subcontractors and international agents.
Support customers and Sales by providing cost-effective shipping options, pricing for tenders and following up on quotations.
Coordinate with Operations to ensure quoted services, routing and pricing are achievable and smoothly handed over.
Manage profitability and compliance by monitoring margins, maintaining accurate pricing records, reporting on quotation performance and improving estimating processes.
