Signa Opportunity is recruiting unemployed youth for quality workplace experience through the Youth Employment Service (YES) initiative.
About the YES Initiative
The initiative was launched by the President in 2018 and is a partnership with the government and labour department to collectively devise a national plan to build economic pathways for South Africa’s youth by creating workplace opportunities for South African youth over a period of 12 months.

Position: Environmental Science Intern

Stipend: R 7 400.00

POSITION INFO:
About the role:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Environmental Science graduate to join our team as an intern.
This role is ideal for someone passionate about sustainability, environmental data analysis, and supporting
impactful projects. You’ll work closely with our environmental team to collect, analyze, and report data that
drives our sustainability initiatives.

Responsibilities:

Assist in collecting and analyzing environmental data (e.g., emissions, waste, and water usage)
Support environmental audits and compliance assessments
Prepare reports, presentations, and dashboards using Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
Conduct research on environmental regulations, best practices, and emerging trends
Help develop and maintain databases for tracking environmental performance
Collaborate with cross-functional teams on sustainability projects

Requirements

South African Unemployed youth between the ages of 18 and 34.
Must not have participated on the YES programme before.
Grade 12
Recent graduate in Environmental Science, or related field
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint )
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy
Passion for environmental sustainability and continuous learning
