Engineering Production Foreman

The Engineering Production Foreman will assist in planning and maintenance of production schedules, monitoring production and adjusting of schedules. Will review and assist with setup, in process and final inspections as well as final grind. 

Requirements:

➢ Based in Johannesburg or Pretoria

➢ 5 years previous work experience as a working foreman.

➢ Matric.

➢ Experience in:

• Grinding

• Milling

• Turning

• CNC (advantageous)

Job specification:

• Production Foreman reports directly to the Production Manager.

• Supervising and motivating production quality and productivity between the engineering shop staff.

• Plan overtime in conjunction with Managers, and control leave.

• Assist in planning and updating of production schedules.

• Monitoring production. Coordinate with production managers to sequence manufacturing, assembly, and installation.

• Assist with and review set-up, in process and final inspections as well as final grind.

• Ensure that all jobs on the floor are on the production boards on the shop floor.

• Ensure quality is maintained, that all WPD’s and QCP’s are properly followed, and that relevant paperwork is up to date and signed off (including time sheets).

 • Procurement and ordering of production related items, materials, and services. Manage stock levels for production related items, diamond belts, drive belts etc.

• Manage cleaners. Maintaining housekeeping at a high level within the workshop through the involvement of all team members.

• Generate NCR’s as appropriate

Management is looking for a working foreman that can assist the production manager while actually working in the workshop grinding, milling, turning and CNC.
