Electrician

SUMMARY:
As an electrician at an industrial or commercial site, clients trust you with installing electrical 
power and systems, telecommunications, fire and security systems and electronic controls. 
Your job involves installing wiring, servicing electrical equipment and installing equipment. 
The electrical work you need to perform could include new work, additions, a change to a job 
already done, maintenance of equipment or repair work for a faulty condition. In the 
industrial or commercial sector. Through your apprenticeship, you develop skills to interpret 
drawings and blueprints and understand electrical code specifications. You need the skills to 
install, replace and repair wiring, conduits, lighting and other fixtures and electrical 
components. You can expect to work full-time or in shift-work

POSITION INFO:
Duties & Responsibilities:
 Work is delivered as per the scope 
 Ensure that quality is as per the standards and escalate to supervisor in case of 
noncompliance. 
 Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation and policies and procedures and 
escalate to supervisor in the event of noncompliance. 
 Apply best practice principles for stock control 
 Timeous reporting as and when required. 
 Investigate and recommend any improvements in systems or processes 
 Strict compliance with all statutory requirements & guidelines 
 Deliver quality workmanship to prevent equipment failure 
 Utilize problem solving techniques to address failures to ensure no repeats 
 Equipment breakdowns are efficiently attended to 
 Maintenance checks done to schedule and accurately recorded 
 Play an active role in the team, contribute positively to the performance of the team 
and attainment of performance objectives 
 Apply Foundation Practices to optimize efficiencies and drive down waste 
 Be willing to work overtime 
 Look for new opportunities for additional business. 
 Installation of conduit (PVC and Bosal), cable mesh/tray, power skirting , trunking, 
Sleeves and any other cable way equipment. 
 Install, steel/PVC gland and cable joints of any size. 
 Install and terminate armour (SWA), Coaxial cable, Network cable, comms cable, PH
