Role Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Electrician to join our team on a remote game reserve. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems across the reserve, including lodges, staff accommodation, operational facilities, and infrastructure. This role requires someone who is hands-on, adaptable, and comfortable working in a bush environment with limited supervision.
Key Responsibilities:

• Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems, wiring, and equipment across the reserve
• Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on electrical infrastructure
• Troubleshoot electrical faults and implement effective solutions
• Maintain power supply systems, including generators, solar systems, and backup power solutions
• Ensure all work complies with safety standards and electrical regulations
• Maintain lighting systems, water pumps, electric fences, and lodge facilities
• Assist with energy efficiency initiatives and system upgrades
• Keep accurate maintenance records and report on system performance
• Work closely with maintenance, operations, and lodge teams
• Respond to emergency breakdowns and after-hours call-outs when required

POSITION INFO:
Work Environment:

• Outdoor and indoor work in varying weather conditions
• Interaction with wildlife (adherence to safety protocols is essential)
• May be required to live on-site

• Trade-tested Electrician (Red Seal or equivalent qualification)
• Valid Wireman’s License (advantageous)
• Minimum 3–5 years’ experience as an Electrician
• Experience working with generators, solar systems, and/or off-grid electrical setups
• Valid driver’s license

• Strong knowledge of electrical systems, fault finding, and repairs
• Experience with solar energy systems, inverters, and battery storage (highly advantageous)
• Understanding of health and safety standards and compliance
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
• Good problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
• Basic computer literacy for reporting and record-keeping

• Self-motivated and proactive
• Physically fit and able to work in a demanding environment
• Comfortable living in a remote location
• Strong attention to detail
• Team player with good communication skills
• High level of responsibility and reliability

• Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and standby duties
• No dependents (if live-in role is required, depending on reserve policy)
